Program Sustainability and Expansion
Regency Robotics is designed as a repeatable, library-hosted robotics workshop program supported by structured activity stations, volunteer training guidance, reusable materials, and a program documentation binder. Following the successful launch event at Regency Park Library, the program has continued expanding through community outreach events including STEMapalooza and a Brownie Girl Scout STEM workshop at Starkey Ranch K-8.
The program will continue through scheduled workshops at Regency Park Library on June 25 and July 23, 2026, with support from LED Robotics student volunteers and reusable station guides that enable future independent implementation by library staff and volunteers.
The continued workshops and outreach activities demonstrate the sustainability of Regency Robotics as an ongoing community STEM program that can continue serving students beyond the initial Gold Award project implementation.
Replication Strategy
Libraries can implement the Regency Robotics workshop program using a structured station-based model designed for repeatable STEM outreach and beginner robotics instruction:
Identify beginner-friendly robotics kits such as Makeblock mBot systems for hands-on workshops
Prepare reusable activity station materials including line-tracker courses, obstacle navigation challenges, and programming mazes
Train student robotics volunteers to assist participants and demonstrate robotics concepts
Organize rotating station-based workshop activities to encourage collaboration and engagement
Use documentation binders, setup guides, and troubleshooting resources to support future workshop implementation
Expand outreach opportunities through school, library, and community STEM events
Collect participant feedback and evaluation data to improve future programming
This structured model allows the program to be adapted to different library and community environments while maintaining consistent hands-on STEM learning experiences and long-term sustainability.
Volunteer Training Model
Student robotics volunteers support workshop delivery by guiding participants through each activity station and demonstrating how robots respond to sensor input, programmed movement, and remote control navigation.
Volunteers supported all activity stations during the launch workshop and will continue assisting with future Regency Robotics sessions.
Volunteer roles include:
• Explaining robotics concepts clearly
• Assisting with troubleshooting during activities
• Encouraging experimentation and problem-solving
• Supporting collaborative learning between participants
This mentorship structure strengthens both student engagement and volunteer leadership experience while helping libraries sustain future Regency Robotics events.
Ana trains LED Robotics volunteers on how to run the line tracking station during preparation for Regency Robotics workshops.
Future Growth
Future expansion goals include:
• Hosting additional Regency Robotics workshops at Regency Park Library on June 25 and July 23, 2026 from 2–3:30 p.m., with additional future sessions being planned
• Exploring opportunities to expand workshops to additional Pasco County library locations
• Training additional student robotics volunteers
• Refining activity station setup guides based on participant feedback
• Developing a replication toolkit for libraries interested in adopting the program model
• Increasing access to robotics learning opportunities for Girl Scouts and STEM clubs nationwide
The long-term goal is to establish Regency Robotics as a sustainable community-based robotics outreach model that libraries can adopt and operate independently using documented station guides and program resources.
The successful launch workshop, STEMapalooza outreach event, and Brownie STEM workshop demonstrated that Regency Robotics can be successfully delivered through student volunteers, reusable station guides, and community partnerships, supporting continued implementation and expansion beyond the initial Gold Award project event.
